“Risk It For The Biscuit”

After a recent conversation with my girlfriend, I had a chance to reflect over the last 29 years of my life. For having the memory of a rock, I do remember the key events that led me to laying in my bed tonight. I remember barely passing Algebra 2 in High School after hiding the report card (sorry, Mom). I can still see myself standing in front of my college dorm room as a foreigner to a new land. I can vividly see all of those memories and see how each decision really played out. The one thing I don’t regret, is always being willing to risk it for the biscuit.

Growing up, we get caught in everybody else’s expectation in us and we never get a chance to see who we really are. Some of us had strict parents that would play by the book and wouldn’t cut any corners in the process. We never really had a choice because our elders “knew what was best”. But there comes a time when we have to make a decision. Are we going to keep playing by everybody else’s rules or are we going to draw up/execute our own? It is in this defining moment in which that spark begins to ignite.

When you make the decision that to draw up your own game plan and strategically move accordingly, everything will fall into place. You will begin to feel better, you will be more positive and you will see the quality of your life improve. You will feel your confidence boosting and will be alert to any oncoming adversity. Making the choice to run your shit the way you want it to be ran, will grant you the opportunity to truly be in control of your life.

Taking control of your life’s choices have nothing to do with everybody else and their opinion on the chances you should and shouldn’t take. Most people try to talk you out of doing something for the simple fact that they are too afraid to do anything themselves. Some people never leave their comfort zone and will have the audacity to condemn you for doing so. Their fear of failing has nothing to do with your aspirations of being a winner. When you are grounded in yourself, You will seize every opportunity at hand.

Whatever opportunity you are looking for, it can/will come to you when you put enough energy towards it. Failing is a part of life. You can’t know how to win until you learn how to lose. That’s just the way the game works. You can’t avoid failure. Trust me, I’ve tried many times and every time it caught me. Taking the opportunity to chase after what you want, puts you in a direct path to acquire whatever you want. Putting it all on the line when your back is against the wall, builds resilience. Smiling through adversities is tough but it builds character and humility. All of those ingredients combined create a human hybrid like none other that no energy can destroy.

As the photo at the beginning of the post reads, “in the end, you only regret the chances you didn’t take”. If you have a chance to travel and feel that it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, fuck it. Pack your bags and ‘don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.” If you have a dream in mind and you’re the only person that see’s the vision, fuck it. Eventually, the people you want to see it will.
